Law enforcement agencies are mandated to manage the product of thousands of hours of surveillance media to evidential standards. The footage can be audio, video or stills photography, in any format (wav, h.264, mpeg2, mpeg4, jpeg). This media needs to be made available at any part of an investigation from intelligence gathering through to an appeals process many years after conviction.
The Storm Force Digital Evidence Management Suite has been designed to help law enforcement agencies manage these unique challenges whilst leveraging the intelligence stored within media to improve public safety and conviction rates. Storm Force has many potential uses. For example it could easily be used as a back-end for managing the output from body worn cameras.
A key feature of Storm Force is accessibility. Storm Force derives its name from the acronym "Streaming Technology for the Observation of Recorded Media". Whenever media is uploaded into Storm Force a bit by bit copy is stored within our database, along with a new copy of the data converted to facilitate its efficient streaming over a secure network. This streaming copy enables easy remote review of media. Users no-longer have to wait for long file downloads and can jump directly to any point within a file.
